A wiki enables documents to be written collaboratively. http://www.wikipedia.org is an example where visitors can edit and create articles without having to gain the site owners permission or access details.

We are using this wiki software as it allows us to quickly and easily put up documentation without having to use an HTML editor and ftp client to upload and it means any of our staff can edit it.
